Temporary Protected Status Has Saved Hundreds of Thousands - Trump Wants to End it

In recent weeks, Trump's new "leadership" in the Department of Homeland Security has announced the end of Temporary Protected Status ("TPS") for Haitians and Nicaraguans

In reality, Trump and his xenophobic friends want to end TPS entirely, deporting as many non-Americans as possible back to war-torn, impoverished nations despite most living here for decades and contributing greatly to this nation.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Accused of Violating Law to Prevent Child Soldiers

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been accused by State Department diplomats of violating the Child Soldier Prevention Act (CSPA), a United States federal statute signed into law by President George W. Bush in October 2008.

Trump campaigned on ending NAFTA.  It was an understatement when Smart Dissent reported back in May that NAFTA's Days Appear Numbered.

Renegotiating international trade agreements (and governing in general) is much harder than being full of hot air on the campaign trail.  So while Trump may not have outright withdrawn from NAFTA, he is aiming to kill it another way.

Trump To Drop Refugee Cap To Lowest In Years

Trump and Republicans have taken direct action to deport as many undocuments U.S. residents as possible, prevent Muslims from entering the country, and ran an entire campaign based on building a wall on our border.  Add this to the list of despicable actions -- lowering the amount of refugees admitted to the United States, leaving hundreds of thousands in imminent danger around the globe.  America Last.

UPDATE: Pentagon Moves Forward with Cancellation of Program That Recruits Immigrants to Military

In July 2017, Smart Dissent reported that the Pentagon was likely canceling a program that recruits immigrants to the military.  Known as Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI), the program fast-tracked immigrants to citizens in exchange for their service defending this great country.
